We received a call from a customer in Charlotte, MI where we had installed a waterproofing system last year. She had heard about our new service and was interested in having a new, slightly wider front porch. The first step for the team was removing the worn out concrete. Once the frame for the new slab was laid out and the support for the roof ensured, it was as simple as shooting concrete out of a fire hose. Which, as it turns out, is actually a pretty quick process. The after photo was taken when the slab was finished being poured. The crew would later return when the concrete was drier and reinstall the column supports.

One morning we received a call from two local homeowners in Charlotte, MI. They informed us that their stone foundation wall was beginning to crack and crumble. These homeowners were worried that their problems would progressively worsen and one day their foundation would totally collapse! These new friends of ours explored our website, read reviews and thought possibly we could provide solutions for their foundation problems. The two of them quickly found out that having their foundation entirely rebuilt was something that they just couldn’t handle financially. We came out to their home and prescribed Shotcrete to remedy their foundation issues at a rather affordable cost. First things first, you will not be able to fix a bowing wall without the help of professionals. Your basement is the foundation of your home and if that wall falls your entire home could fall with it, so it's important to take care of a bowing or leaning wall as soon as possible. 

For this home in Charlotte, MI we were able to use our Wall Anchor's to fix this wall that was leaning from the pressure of the soil outside of it. These are the best option to bring a wall back to its original position over time. The installation is also fairly quick but you must have room outside of your house so if you have neighbors very close we can discuss other options with you. 

These homeowners called as they were doing some new construction on their home and noticed a fairly significant horizontal crack in their basement wall. Upon inspection, we were able to observe some bowing in the wall. A level against the blocks showed a significant difference between the the crack and the top and bottom of the wall. We had definitely seen worse, but bowing walls are not something to wait on. Often the repairs become significantly more expensive over time and the walls become more dangerous. Now was the time to address it. We installed a series of wall anchors to support the wall. Steel wall plates on the interior of the home are connected to GeoLock Earth Anchors buried in the ground away from the home with long steel rods. Over time, the wall anchors can be tightened with the potential of improving the condition of the wall. This is a permanent fix that will prevent further bowing and will give these homeowners peace of mind.

It’s clear to see in the first image that something’s just not right with these walls...they’re bowing! Bowed walls are often the result of hydrostatic pressure. As water saturates the backfill soil surrounding the foundation, the water exerts pressure on the foundation walls. Installing the PowerBrace system in this home was the best solution for combating the hydrostatic pressure and straightening these walls over time. 12 corrosion-resistant, zinc beams were carefully reinforced to the floor joists to distribute the load evenly preventing damage to the floor system above it. These beams can be tightened over time to continue to stabilize the walls, putting them back in their place.
