Service Details
Depending on the systems and services installed by Ayers Basement Systems, our service technicians may complete the following during your annual inspection:
- Cycle and water test sump pump operations
- Clean sediment from sump system
- Change battery in the WaterWatch® alarm
- Flush and flood test WaterGuard® system
- Inspect walls for new cracks, efflorescence, or water stains
- Inspect discharge lines for freezing risk
- Record humidity and temperature levels
- Re-tighten all anchors, support jacks and wall braces to appropriate torque
- Perform an inspection of foundation, grading, and gutters
Iron Ochre Cleaning*
Iron ochre is a thick sludge formed by a combination of iron, oxygen, water, and certain naturally occurring bacteria. While it’s not usually dangerous to people, it is dangerous to your home’s waterproofing system. It thrives in moist environments, especially where iron-rich soil is common, making many areas we serve especially prone to it. Iron ochre is often mistaken for rust or clay, but it feels sticky or gelatinous and may appear in your sump pump basin, drain lines, or even along your basement walls.
If your home has iron ochre, we’re prepared to take care of it. This add-on cleaning service is available for an additional cost.
