This basement had water coming up through cracks in the floor. The water would puddle in areas throughout but would never make it to the sump pump. The basement was finished making this an especially frustrating problem to be having. The solution for the homeowners was to have cross tile pvc installed through the hall and in each of the rooms of the basement. This pipe is designed to capture moisture beneath the basement floor and carry it safely to the sump pump before it has a chance to seep up through the floor cracks. This basement should be significantly dryer now, the sump pump can fulfill its purpose of disposing safely of basement moisture, and the basement can be truly finished once again.
