Basement Walls Enhanced with Brightwall Paneling in Parma, MI

We all know doing laundry isn’t the most enjoyable experience, but it’s probably a lot less unpleasant if you have to do it in a basement like this one. The mortar around the cinderblock walls is crumbling, letting moisture into the basement. While the owners have a sump pump, there’s no way for the water from the leaky walls to enter it; that’s where WaterGuard comes in.

Our team installed WaterGuard, a drainage system that’s laid on top of the footing around the perimeter of the basement. This piping collects water from the leaky walls and reroutes it to the sump pump, where it’s then forced out of the basement through a discharge line.

To improve the overall look of the walls, we also installed BrightWall paneling. These plastic panels fastened to the wall brighten the space, while still allowing water from the walls behind it to drain to the WaterGuard system. These panels prevent water vapor from coming through the walls and evaporating the basement, too.

WaterGuard helps eliminate the water from the leaky walls in this basement, while Brightwall paneling dramatically enhances the space. We won’t promise the homeowners that doing their laundry will be fun, but we hope it will be a lot more bearable when it’s done in this bright, dry basement.

Parma MI Basement Waterproofing

Carol's basement floor was wet around the perimeter and has been for a week. She did not see any cracks or where the water could be leaking in from so she called us to find a solution. We found out the water was seeping in from where the wall and floor met. We installed the WaterGuard Below Floor Drain to collect water that gets in and send it to the sump pump to be expelled outside the home. It installs quick, year-round, and all concrete is restored after the install so you do not have an unsightly drain in the space. We also installed a sump pump to keep the water out of the home. The SuperSump Plus is great for homes that get the occasional water issues but not flooding. It was installed with the back up battery system to make sure the home stays dry even in the event of a power outage!

Bought an old house, two floors slant above Basement, appears to have sag in beams
Project Location: Parma, MI
Crawlspace beneath part of the house (bedrooms) needs to be sealed and water vapor barrier laid down. Currently there's a strong breeze that blows during cold weather that sucks the heat out of that part of the house (and chills the air in the ductwork) so that part of the house is 10-15 degrees colder.

I am looking at buying a home in Concord, MI and had an inspection done. The modular home is on a crawl space but the inspector says the 3 posts supporting the house do not have concrete footings under them. He said the house would have to be jacked up and the cement footings put in to keep in from shifting. I would also like to have an electrical outlet put in as right now the heat tape is on an extension cord and have the crawl space insulated and a vapor barrier in there. Is this something you can do?

We have owned this home for about 16 years and have always had a damp basement that causes a slight "damp basement smell". We are finally getting ready to start major renovations in our home and I want to start by making sure we have a solid foundation and dry basement that we can use for storage or a rec room for the kids. I am recently retired and can be here most days and times you are available. Thanks.
