A local church in Berrien Springs was beginning to see significant signs of shifting of their concrete, which was becoming very uneven and had some mild cracks. The church called Ayers to see what we could do, and we were able to lift and level several areas of their concrete with our Polylevel technology, along with the installation of our NexusPro sealant in the cracks to no longer allow for water to enter into those cracks.
Joel and Margaret have lived in their home for many years. The driveway slabs, which were poured in the 80s, have started to sink, crack, and separate over time. Recognizing the need for maintenance, they reached out to Ayers for assistance. Upon inspection, it was determined that their driveway required the application of our Polylevel and NexusPro products to lift and level the slabs to appropriate heights and seal the cracks. Following the installation, Joel and Margaret's driveway regained its new appearance and is now expected to last for several more years.
Homeowners in Sparta, MI were looking to repair their concrete pool deck prior to the next summer season. There was evidence of sinking of their concrete, as well as several new cracks. They called Ayers to evaluate the situation and we were able to lift and level the pool deck back to appropriate levels through our PolyLevel technology, along with sealing the cracks with NexusPro.
Sinking sidewalks occur when the pressure from concrete slabs are too much for the soil underneath to bear. Notice how in the before picture the slab appears to slant downwards as it reaches the wall. Most methods for treating sinking slabs are temporary, be they replacing the concrete or slab jacking – pumping a mixture of mud and cement below the slab. These methods don’t treat the root cause of sinking concrete, the soil below; and, often times, the resulting repair may be as uneven as before. That is why here at Ayers we use the PolyLevel injection system. By pumping an expanding polymer foam below the surface of the concrete, we can provide a more stable support system to sidewalks like these.
The crew injected the PolyLevel directly into each of the settling slabs and pumped the polymer until it filled in the voids left by the settling soil. Once the waterproof polymer raised the slab to a leveled height, the injection was ended and the clean-up process began. Thanks to a simple 2-day injection, this walkway will remain at a leveled height without the threat of sinking any lower.
Frank's back porch needed lifting because it was made of concrete and was sinking. So our team installed PolyLevel, a system designed to fix concrete slabs that have sunk by using a new product to lift the concrete slabs back to their original level. The new product used is a polyurethane foam that expands and has a high density in order to raise the concrete. The process is quite simple and is done by drilling small holes into the concrete and then inserting the foam into the holes. Also, the PolyLevel system is waterproof and long-lasting.
