With summer in full swing, many are enjoying a cottage on a lake during the weekends. The people lucky enough to own a lake house might even host friends and family this holiday weekend. No matter the size of the home, there is probably a crawl space below and that crawl space is probably a problem.
Are you noticing a musty smell that hasn’t gone away since you opened the home up for the season? Well, I am sorry to say but the smell won’t be going away until you address the problem. An open crawl space is subject to any element of nature such as wind and water. Moisture and materials, such as fiberglass insulation or wood, are great ‘food’ options for mold. If not taken care of properly, mold will spread causing you to have a smelly, wet crawl space.
Do not worry though, we have great news for you! You do not have to live with a wet crawl space that causes a musty smell to emanate throughout the home. The Vapor Barrier protects your crawl space from the elements of nature and critters while also protecting your home from your crawl space.
Say goodbye to a musty, water-filled crawl space and hello to a clean, dry space that lowers your energy bills!
