The crew, Logan, Nelson and Alex and project manager Ty arrived at 9:00am. I was told they would arrive between 9-10am. Ty asked to see the area and reviewed rooms where vents were to be placed. Ty and the crew then covered the steps and floor in the basement with plastic. I appreciated Ty asking me if I had a preference on lower or higher placement of the vent at the bottom of the stairs. The crew was very efficient they cleaned up and swept after installation. Ty and the crew were very polite and professional. Ty reviewed how the dehumidifier works and took the time to answer other non related questions I had. Very good experience.

My basement was leaking water in so I called Ayers to help me. Tom was an excellent salesman and was timely in his arrival! The crew were very considerate, work focused and kept me informed every step of the way. The cost exceeded my budget that I had projected, but I felt your recommendation to do our entire basement was good advise. I'm pleased with the outcome. Even considering that, I chose Ayers all together because of the price, warranty and scheduling.

    After

After intermittent water issues in the crawl space - regularly occurring but usually negligible amounts of water - our customer looked into his crawl space to find four inches of standing water.

We drained the water (the before picture is the immediate aftermath, where everything is still nice and soggy) and installed a Smart Sump to help with any future water accumulation, before encapsulating the crawl space with the CleanSpace vapor barrier system and drainage matting.

  • Basement Waterproofing in Jackson, MI
    Before
    Basement Waterproofing in Jackson, MI
    After

This customer called because their discharge line was redirecting water back into their basement. The end result was that the basement flooded and without a sump pump system, there isn’t an effective way for the water to exit the home.

We redirected the discharge lines and installed both the TripleSafe sump pump system and the WaterGuard system to begin waterproofing their basement.

The TripleSafe sump pump system supports three sump pumps in one liner to ensure water is efficiently pumped out of your basement. The first pump is an effective pump that will do most of the work. The second pump is higher in the liner and automatically turns on if the first pump cannot keep up. The third pump is a battery-powered pump that will ensure the sump pump is working even if the power goes out.

We also installed the WaterGuard system that is used to further waterproof a basement by ensuring any water leakage will filter into the pipe and exit into the sump pump. The system is installed in the perimeter of the basement and is placed slightly away from the wall to ensure any water from wall leaks will have room to filter into the pipe and exit into the sump pump.

These owners can be assured they will have full protection against flooding in the future!

Crawl spaces can be a horrible sight and have a horrible effect on your home. If crawl spaces are open to the earth, moisture is guaranteed to enter into your home from the floor up; the same thing happens with cold air. To stop this from happening in their home, a family in Jackson, MI gave us a call. We were able to transform their dirty, damp crawl space into a crisp, clean area by using our patented CleanSpace encapsulation system. CleanSpace sealed off their crawl space completely from the earth, preventing any moisture or cold air from entering. Along with that, the antimicrobial property built into the material of CleanSpace counteracts mold growth. Say hello to a happier crawl space with CleanSpace!

  • Crack in Haslett, MI Basement Wall Sealed And Waterproofed For Good
    Before
Crack in Haslett, MI Basement Wall Sealed And Waterproofed For Good
    After

Cracks in basement walls can be difficult to waterproof when conventional sealants don't stick well and cracks move and expand. We've helped many homeowners who have tried to waterproof cracks on their own with no success.

Our team does inject sealants into the crack but this is only a first line of defense. We also excavate a small area under the crack creating a drywell a few gallons deep that water will eventually flow into and leach back into the soil. The drywell is filled with crushed stone and the concrete on top is replaced aside from a small gap at the base of the wall where the water is allowed to seep in. The crack is covered with a foam followed by a mold and mildew resistant layer on top. The foam creates a space between the wall and mold resistant layer where water can flow freely into the drywell in the event that the sealants begin to fail. The homeowner will never have to worry about puddles. They'll likely not even know whether the crack is leaking or not. The shop vac can now have a much needed break.

We received a call from a customers crawlspace that was not well insulated from the outside environment. We drove to their home and gave them a free estimate. After inspection, we decided to install CleanSpace (info on CleanSpace here) along with FrothPak. FrothPak is a spray foam insulation used on rim joists and hard to reach areas. It does not absorb moisture, so it does a great job at sealing crawlspaces from the outside environment. Now that this homeowner's crawlspace is insulated, they won't have to worry about their home being affected by the outside environment any longer

This house had just recently been put up for sale, but shortly after, the owners discovered water in their two crawl spaces. While one crawl space had block walls, the other was protected by insulation. As the water came in, it caused stains to the block walls and puddled on the floor of the other. The before photo shows where the water leaked on the floor. Both crawl spaces were solved using the CleanSpace system, shown in the after photo. CleanSpace is a vapor barrier that is impenetrable by moisture. Neither the current seller nor the future buyer will have any moisture issues to worry about in either crawl space.

    Before
Wet Foundation Wall Crack Sealed In East Lansing, MI
    After

When water gathered in the yard outside after a rain or snow melt, it had a way of eventually leaking through this crack. Water would run down the wall and puddle on the floor. Fortunately, this is an easy fix; although not quite so easy that you can just paint over it or inject a basic sealant from the local hardware store. These fixes are only temporary. The permanent fix is FlexiSpan. We dig out a drywell at the base of the crack a few gallons deep, fill it with crushed stone, and replace the concrete. This gives the water somewhere to flow and work back into the soil. We then inject the crack with sealant as a first defense. The crack then gets a foam layer over top followed by a section of our BrightWall paneling. Water that flows through the crack can flow down through the foam layer and into the drywell without it ever being seen or noticed. No more puddles and no more worries.

Once tightened into place, the floors were stabilized and lifted back to their proper level.

We had completed a WaterGuard installation for homeowners in Lansing, MI, but the basement still felt like it was missing something: a wall upgrade. Over time, painted basement walls can chip or peel and give a basement a dark and dingy look. Not exactly welcoming. We suggested BrightWall, basement wall panels that easily install to current basement walls to brighten up the space and give it a more clean look. BrightWall panels are also waterproof, mold-resistant, and energy efficient. This after picture really shows the difference clean walls can make!

  • Very Wet Basement Now A Dry Space In Charlotte, MI
    Before
Very Wet Basement Now A Dry Space In Charlotte, MI
    After

This homeowner had been dealing with water seeping in for several years. It was entering in such large amounts that even when we did our inspection, one whole area of the basement was just a large puddle under the egress window. The owner was tired of dealing with the mess and wanted to know what could be done to stop it. Our production team came out a few short weeks later to install his new WaterGuard drainage system. This system requires the excavation of concrete along the perimeter walls to expose the home's footing. The drain system is put in place and the excavated area is leveled off with stone before replacing the concrete. This system captures the water along the base of the wall and diverts it to a sump pump for removal from the home. In this system, where a large amount of water was flowing through it, we installed several 4" pvc access ports. These ports allow us entry into the system to service and clean it out. This would be especially helpful in an area where iron ochre was present and had a tendency to muck up the drain over time. The finished walls that were cut out at the bottom for installation can now have the framing repaired and new drywall screwed in place. This former puddle should now stay dry, no matter the weather outside.

    After

Jewell C. needed to waterproof her basement. She had a sump pump, but that wasn’t enough. The house was built in 1962 and made of block walls. Houses made of block walls often allow moisture to seep through the cracks. This moisture can be a factor making your basement cold and allowing for mold growth. We not only installed Waterguard to ensure all the water is flowing to the sump pump but we installed BrightWall Paneling. BrightWall brightens your basement, giving it a finished look while protecting it. It keeps water vapor from coming through the walls and drains the water to the WaterGuard system.

Lastly, we installed our ThermalDry Floor System. The ThermalDry Floor System is made of inorganic materials: this means that water won’t ruin them and mold can’t grow. The tiles are also not sitting right on top of your concrete floors. They have raised pegs that make sure water doesn’t damage them and keeps your new floor warmer.  In addition, if one or two tiles ever get ruined in one of those high traffic areas, you won't have to replace your entire floor, but just those few tiles.

The EverLast panels are very durable and hard, so it's almost impossible to dent. You can also hang anything on them without having to find studs. The ThermalDry Parquet flooring looks like real wood, but won't absorb water and swell up from water vapor. Both of these options are great for keeping your basement dry and they look amazing when completed.

You probably have seen basements with stone walls, because they are very popular in Michigan and Indiana. Well, unfortunately that is terrible for your foundation, they are hard to fix once they crack and crumble.  So we used Shotcrete on this home in Nappanee. We start by connecting the old wall to a framework that will help support the concrete being sprayed on the wall. We just build the new wall right on top of the other wall. This has fewer risk than lifting the entire house does and it is quicker and cheaper, making it easy for you. You won't even need to leave your home. This concrete will strengthen this home for many more years to come.

This Hastings, MI home was suffering from bowing walls. The initial tell for the owner was the stair-step cracking seen in the before picture. Once the system design specialist confirmed the inward bowing walls, the owner called on our crew to solve the problem.

After selecting to use our Geo-Lock Wall Anchor System as the solution, the homeowner was forced to wait until the ground thawed for production to occur. Once the soil was no longer frozen solid, the crew was able to excavate next to the wall and place the earth anchors into hard-packed distant soil. The anchors were then attached to the wall using steel tie backs and Geo-Lock wall plates, like those pictured in the after photo. Essentially, the anchors will stabilize the foundation while pulling the collapsing wall back to its original position.
