Weird Wednesday: Finish Your Basement and House an Elk

When you finish your basement, you probably expect it to become another usable space in your home. A game room, a family room, maybe even an extra bedroom to accommodate your growing family.

Or, ya know, an elk.

As reported by KTVB, the elk wound up in the basement after presumably falling through a window well, waking up the homeowners just after midnight last week.

Elk have been roaming the valley region of Haley, Idaho after being driven from the mountains by snow.

Members of the Fish and Game office as well as sheriff's deputies tried for hours to remove the elk from the home, eventually encouraging it upstairs with a barricade path of furniture.
